Chickadee
Toddler & Adult Class
Designed for children ages 18 - 30 months with the accompaniment of an adult. Children may continue past 30 months old with an adult, and explore the forest at their own pace.
As an introduction to our program philosophy, Chickadee Toddler and Adult Class provides a foundation for early discoveries in nature. Parks Plus Creation educators provide a safe, welcoming space for children and caregivers to develop a positive connection with nature through social connections and sensory explorations. We hope that these experiences will create lasting memories, and lifelong curiosity and stewardship.
Each Chickadee class we sing songs, use tools, create connections to forest creatures and plants, participate in group movement, and explore sensory materials. Educators guide and support children and adults by introducing positive language around problem solving and building peer relationships. All activities are optional; we support families in following the lead of their child, to see what interests them about nature.
Classes take place in the Presidio near the Arguello Gate, exact location provided by email before the class begins.

Children must be between ages 18-30 months old as of the first day of class.

No makeup classes for illness or appointments.

Chickadee classes are non refundable and non transferable. Read our cancelation policy HERE.

Adult participants are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (fully vaccinated means you have received the primary series of shots plus a booster). Adult participants are recommended to be “up-to-date” with their COVID vaccine by receiving the most recent booster dose available (bivalent booster). Please refer to the CDC’s website to learn when you are eligible to receive your booster.

Class will be canceled if the AQI is 150 or above (red) or in case of an extreme weather event (ie: atmospheric river). A make-up class will be offered if Parks Plus Creation cancels the class.

How to Create a Registration Account
We recommend doing this before registration opens to save time on registration day. NOTE: if you already have an account no need to create a new one!
To create an account, click HERE, then click “New User” and complete the required fields. Once on the “My Account” page, under “Account Members” add your child(ren) and any other parents. Return to the “My Account” page and add Emergency Contacts and Authorized Pick-Ups. On registration day, use the button above to sign-in to your accont and choose your class!
